Beef Sandwich Maker/Cashier – Buona Pop-Up (Wicker Park)

As a Beef Maker/Cashier for our Buona Pop-Up, you'll be the face of Buona at Rainbow Cone Wicker Park, preparing Chicago's Original Italian Beef sandwiches, engaging with guests, and helping create an exceptional experience that brings together two iconic Chicago brands.

Job Summary

This is a hybrid cook/cashier role that combines food preparation and guest service responsibilities. As the Beef Maker/Cashier, you'll prepare Buona's Original Italian Beef sandwiches to our quality standards while providing friendly service, taking orders, operating the register, and helping maintain a clean and efficient work environment. All food is cooked to order following company recipes and procedures that uphold the Buona standard.

Duties and Responsibilities

●      Prepare Buona’s Original Italian Beef according to company recipes and quality standards.

●      Cook food to order while maintaining consistency, speed, and accuracy.

●      Maintain appropriate portion control and monitor food levels on the line.

●      Maintain proper food storage, rotation, and sanitation standards.

●      Keep the kitchen, prep, and service areas clean and organized.

●      Take guest orders in a friendly and professional manner.

●      Accurately operate the point-of-sale system and responsibly handle cash and credit card transactions.

●      Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards.

●      Restock food, paper products, and supplies as needed.

●      Assist with opening, closing, and daily cleaning responsibilities.

●      Work collaboratively with teammates to provide an outstanding guest experience.

Qualifications

●      High school diploma or GED preferred.

●      Must be at least 18 years old.

●      Previous food service, line cook, or restaurant experience preferred but not required.

●      Prior cashier experience is a plus.

●      Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.

●      Current Food Handler's Card required (may be obtained upon hire).

●      Comfortable working in a shared-space environment alongside Rainbow Cone team members.

●      Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds.

●      Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

●      Strong customer service skills.

●      Reliable transportation.

●      Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
